Walking Lunges in Body Mind Spirit Integration

Walking Lunges

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and relax your body, beginning with feet then ankles, legs, knees, hips, pelvis, belly, back, shoulders, jaws, eyes and scalp. Your hands rest at your sides.
.
Inhaling slowly, take a giant step forward with your right foot. Carefully lower your left knee toward the floor until it is hovering a few inches above the ground. Your torso is balanced and aligned above your hips with your arms relaxed at your sides. Pause and breathe.

Breathing out, slowly push off with the ball of your left foot, bringing your left foot forward even with your right. Pause and breathe.

Repeat alternating legs for twenty strides. (I turn around and lunge to my starting place.)

Tip: Keep the calf of your front foot perpendicular to the floor so as not to put extra stress on your knee.
